Job Summary
Baptist Health is currently looking for a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Pharmacist to join our Pharmacy team at Wolfson Children's Hospital. This clinical position is stationed within the Emergency Department (ED) of Wolfson Children’s Hospital. In addition, this position will cover pediatric needs for Wolfson Children’s free-standing EDs and respond to pediatric-related code blues. This candidate will be working with a large group of Pharmacists. The major job responsibilities of this position are pharmaceutical care to pediatric patients of all ages, order verification, drug distribution support, clinical interventions, providing education to pharmacy, nursing, and providers, and pharmacy representation on pediatric medical committees. This candidate is expected to participate in the teaching programs of Baptist Medical Center and Wolfson Children’s Hospital, including the PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency program as well as educational activities such as precepting students affiliated with several Colleges of Pharmacy in the state of Florida.
As a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Pharmacist, you will be responsible for:
- Entering orders with great accuracy.
- Checking technician work for accuracy prior to the release of medications and solutions to the floor.
- Supervising technicians and serving on committees as assigned.
- Answering questions for all health care professionals.
- Serving as a consultant for members of the medical staff.
- Monitoring patient therapy as assigned, including pharmacokinetics services.
Pediatric Pharmacy experience is required for this position as well as a valid Pharmacist license within the State of Florida.
