Wolfson Children’s Hospital nationally recognized for top-decile, quality care by The Leapfrog Group

One of the most prestigious awards for American hospitals, the Top Hospital designation underscores excellence in health care safety and quality standards.

Jacksonville, FL -

Today, Wolfson Children’s Hospital was recognized as one of eight Top Children’s Hospitals in the country by The Leapfrog Group. The Leapfrog Top Hospital award highlights patient safety and quality achievements and is widely acknowledged as one of the few pediatric, quality-focused, competitive awards hospitals in the U.S. can receive.

The Leapfrog Group is an organization committed to transparency in health care quality and safety. One of their goals is to help make data and information available to parents and caregivers seeking high-quality, safe care for their child.

“Being recognized as one of eight Top Children's Hospitals in the country by The Leapfrog Group is a profound honor that reflects Wolfson Children’s commitment to providing top-decile care to patients and their families,” said Allegra C. Jaros, MBA, president of Wolfson Children’s. “This award reflects how we consistently show up for our patients – by staying deeply focused on quality and safety, while ensuring their experience is nothing short of exceptional.”

The standards for the Top Hospital award from The Leapfrog Group align closely with Wolfson Children’s core focus area of commitment to quality. Wolfson Children’s had practices, measures and a strong culture of safety in place to ensure top-decile care across many pediatric specialties.

“The Top Hospital Award helps demonstrate Wolfson Children’s overall commitment to evidence-based practices, patient safety and continuous improvement in health care delivery,” said Jeremy Goodman, MD, MBA, FACHE, CPE, FACS, VP and system quality officer at Baptist Health. “Ultimately, we’re motivated by the children and families we serve. We will always be committed to excellence for every child, particularly in the areas of quality and safety.”

To qualify for the distinction, hospitals must rank top among peers on the Leapfrog Hospital Survey, which assesses hospital performance on the highest standards for quality and patient safety and achieve top performance in their category.
