From the Doctor
I am originally from Chile and have been a Florida resident for over 25 years. My husband and I moved from Key West to St. Augustine after hurricane Irma and have fallen in love with Northeast Florida. I enjoy reading, family brunches, watching sunsets, boating on the Saint Johns River, scuba diving in the Florida Keys, 5K races and playing Scrabble.
My philosophy of care is grounded on the biopsychosocial and shared decision-making models. That is, biological, psychological, and socio-environmental factors are addressed to enhance mental wellness. I then work together as a partner with the patient and family (when applicable) in the development of an individualized treatment plan that incorporates clinical evidence as well as patient preferences and values.
I am passionate about social determinants of health and strive to participate in causes that influence health outcomes. Currently I serve as a volunteer board member for the Early Learning Coalition of North Florida and the Jericho School for children with autism and other developmental disabilities. Past community involvement includes Fostering Connections St. John’s, Volunteers in Medicine Jacksonville, American Red Cross South Florida, Take Stock in Children and Literacy Volunteers of America
