Wolfson Children's is home to Florida’s first and only pediatric MIBG treatment center to treat high-risk neuroblastoma.
Metaiodobenzylguanidine (MIBG) therapy offers children with unresponsive or relapsed high-risk neuroblastoma a unique new therapy option.
Administered intravenously, this innovative radiation therapy specifically targets tumor cells and is not absorbed by any other cells in the body. The infusion lasts about 90 minutes, and is typically tolerated well.

MIBG is administered in a specialized room with protective features to help manage patient and family safety. Parents have a separate, adjoining living space, along with a voice and video system, allowing families and patients to remain connected while reducing exposure to radiation.
Each patient is evaluated for MIBG on a case-by-case basis. Currently, we are considering patients who:
